*culture shock*

hmm plenty to write about but just cldnt bring myself to write out my feelins nowadays, i have had so mani new experiences, some nice some somber...hmm but hey tats life, but the most interestin thing i went thru was this new form of culture shock and worst thing its supposedli from my own culture....I guess indian culture is the closest form of culture i got from my mixed heritage but my knowledge of it is seriousli low and i found this out the hard way.....

Mum and Aunties were naggin all cuzzins to go to for this wedding of my uncles brother-in-law....So to avoid all kind of emotional drama we consented, and since for once i wasnt workin durin these weddins or out alrdi, i went for it, i went there and didnt know much about anithin, i didnt knw whu was supposed to do wat and how things were done, while it was interestin to see culture unfold infront of ur eyez the whole process was a tedious one and honestli a damn borin one, no offense but i seriousli cldnt concentrate, maybe its juz primarily the fact tat i didnt understand anithin tha priest was sayin, and the wonderful fact tat my cuzzins found some way to weasel out at the last min, so i was stuck wif my sis as my onli company.....
Another thing i noticed is tat, hmm before i say this, if there is any1 going to get offended i offer my apologies, i juz wanna say my views, and i guess since i am part indian i have a right to offer my views abt my race, but i do welcome a rebuttal ya,

Hmm i noticed the funny thing about indian weddings is tat no1 actualli came to watch the bride and groom or simply to attend a wedding, i noticed so mani exterior motives that could put Sidney Sheldon to shame, and some lame ass things to do, hmm indians are a proud race, our pride is always first on our list, but pride shld come wif wat u have and not wat u wanna show, i heard of conversations of where they show off sarees, jewelries, and even make up or wat they ate and wich holiday they went to, but these same "high-class" people fought over a place to seat or worst after sum1 leaves the amount of bitchin about tat person and tat the saree was actualli lower priced or jewelry stolen, gosh it seriousli was a eye opener and maybe its eminent in all cultures i have noticed this abt my own culture alot, we like to look good and honestli its not wrong but our means of getting there seriousli evokes serious thought....

But this is part of all cultures and maybe while we indians talk abt sarees, it mite be the same case of cheongsams at chinese weddings, or baju kurungs and kebayas at malay weddings, but hey it was a nice eye opener,

Another culture shock i got was when i watched a tamil movie in the theatre for the first time, hmm sure i do catch movies quite often but its coz vcds are so popular and unlike hollywood our cinemas churn out onli 2 or 3 movies per month, hmmm recentli a movie tat made waves was this movie Anniyan(Stranger).... honestli puns have made with its reference to onion till it has become stale, but i have yet to hear weak reviews of the movie, though the movie wasnt tat marvelous i have to concede it was because the movies storyline i knew of earlier as i read tat book.....hmm i have to admit the directors vision into makin a sidney sheldon novel likeable by a audience tat ooohs and aaahs at tree huggin stars, he made a very credible transition movie and hats off to the actor whu did the role almost flawlessli.....But enuff of the movie, the crowd honestli made me feel uncomfortable, i didnt feel so comfortable with so mani indians next to me and i didnt know tat indian movies realli had intermissions....hmm but honestli i enjoyed the experience and shows how much i knw abt my own culture and social status in my society.....
